September through to November is an exceptionally busy time for me so apologies for my complete lack of new content. The upside of having been so busy is that I have lots to share and it’s been an exciting few months holding workshops. One of those workshops being my very first Alcohol Ink workshop.
Being fairly new to Alcohol Inks myself I was a little apprehensive at teaching others. With a full house at 14 students, it was brilliant to see so many familiar faces and a few new ones. Lots of chat, laughter and tea contributed to a lovely atmosphere and of course some wonderful artwork.
We started off the morning experimenting, using Jacquard, Pinatta inks on Yupo paper and 98% Isoprophyl alcohol. We experimented with different techniques, colour combinations and ratios of ink to alcohol achieving some wonderful results shown below.
After lots of ink, alcohol and many sheets of yupo, in the festive spirit we moved on to decorating baubles and wonderful baubles they were!
After lunch, we looked at ways we could control the inks a little better and introduced new materials and techniques. We incorporated Alcohol based markers (Pro markers, Copic markers) and experimented with acrylic inks and other materials to compliment the alcohol inks. Below are just a few of the results.
I will right away clutch your rss as I can not to find your email subscription hyperlink or e-newsletter service.
Do you’ve any? Kindly permit me know so that I may subscribe.
Thanks. Howdy! This article could not be
written much better! Going through this post reminds me of my previous roommate!
He always kept preaching about this. I most certainly will forward this information to him.
Pretty sure he’s going to have a great read. Thanks for sharing!
Hi there would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working
with? I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a difficult time selecting between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs
and I’m looking for something completely unique.
P.S My apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask! http://cspan.co.uk
Hi Jason, thanks for taking the time to comment. I’m a little embarrassed to say I don’t believe I do, I’m not very good at the technology side, I love taking photos and creating art but when it comes to computers sadly I’m not very knowledgeable. I would very much like to learn more however and improve so I will look into e-mail subscriptions or an e-newsletter service.
In answer to which platform, I use WordPress, although haven’t used any others to be able to compare, hope you find the right platform for you 🙂
My partner and I stumbled over here by a different page and thought I might
check things out. I like what I see so now i am following you.
Look forward to going over your web page for a second time.
Hi there, thank you very much, I’m glad you stumbled through 🙂 I hope to be updating far more frequently from here on.
Hi Robyn these look brilliant, do you have plans to do other alcohol ink workshops in 2019?
Hi there,
Thank you Becky, sorry for the slow response I’ve only just seen your comment, I do have another alcohol ink workshop coming up in 2019. For all upcoming workshop dates please visit https://www.tindalls.co.uk/1297-art-workshops Always lovely to see new faces 🙂
Thank you for the wonderful post
I attended this workshop and thoroughly enjoyed it. I was surprised at the versatility of the medium, and came away with some beautiful pieces although none of them were planned or what I had expected to do!
Robyn is an immensely talented artist and a great teacher. She explains everything and is happy to help on a one to one basis. I went to this workshop on my own but was soon chatting with other people, the atmosphere was very friendly and relaxed. I can’t recommend Robyn enough, so if you get a chance to attend one of her workshops you should definitely do it!
